1         Army Institute of Higher Education, Pathankot offers a full time professional pre service teacher education programme of the duration of one academic year, after graduation and post graduation studies, leading to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Degree of  Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

Number of Seats

 

2         The college has 100 seats for the B.Ed Course.  Seats are allocated to the aspiring dependents of the serving/ retired Army Personnel including widows (Army) from all parts of the country on the basis of their merit in the  Combined  Written Admission Test (CWAT) to be held in Apr/May each year at 15 identified Examination Centres in the country.

(d)       Teaching Methodologies   The two School Subjects are to be chosen out of Teaching of Hindi/ English / Social Studies/ History/ Geography/ Political Science/ Economics/ Commerce/ Maths/ Computer Application/ Physical Science/ Life Science.


Note: - A candidate can opt only for those teaching subjects, which he/she has studied at graduation level. Candidates who have passed additional subjects at graduation level must ensure that they are opting for those teaching subjects marks of which are taken into account for the purpose of calculating the percentage of marks and eligibility.

Programme Transaction

4       The B.Ed. Programme involves lectures, discussions, tutorials, school based experiences, workshop experiences, psychology practical, visual education work, community work and co-curricular activities including physical education.  One major component of this programme is Teaching Practice, also called School Life Experience, which is organized in schools chosen by the college for the purpose.
